Gentlemen.......I appreciate the input. One good point, the iPad 2 may see a price drop after the iPad 3 hits the streets, though probably not enough to get too excited about, and it is quite possible the iPad 3 will see a price increase.

Sounds like the the iPad Smart Cover does not offer the best protection, but I don't want to turn the iPad into something bulky to handle. The more leather wrapped around it the more there is to handle and control when trying to use it. I'll have to give this some thought. And I'll have to check into the Zagg screen protector. I have not heard of it before tonight.

It appears the 32GB model would most likely fit my needs. I won't be carrying much music on it, although I may use it for photos with one of my cameras, and I may try some music production with Garage Band. A portable studio in my hand sounds pretty cool.

More comments are welcomed.

Dan,
I was just thinking tonight how I like having a leather case for my iPad as it makes it much easier to grasp the iPad securely. I have a Zagg cover on the back of my iPad as well as a screen protector, and it can be a slippery "naked", so to speak. The Sena case has a leather "frame" that holds the iPad in the case and I find this frame provides a better purchase on the iPad than no frame, much like a hand or finger grip does on a camera. Also the leather back panel provides more texture with which to hold the iPad as well. I've taken my iPad out from time to time and tried using it with just it's Smart Cover, but it just feels more secure to me when holding it when it's in it's Sena case.

Regarding the price drop on iPad2s, I wouldn't get one's hopes up too high. Apple pulls all available stock of any previous model before the new model comes out (doesn't matter what it is, Ipads, Macbooks, iPods, etc., you cannot buy discontinued product at an Apple Store), and when I was shopping (at length for six weeks) for my iPad2 at various stores, including Best Buy and Target stores, etc. there were plenty of iPad "1"s for sale at their original MSRP price. I didn't see any discounting of the just-discontinued model. YMMV. You may be able to find refurbed iPad2 at Apple's web site, but I've never seen one; though refurbed computers are frequently available.

Just my 2˘.

Cheers,
Stephen.

Ha! You don't know the half of it. They are not only beautiful, they are superbly constructed and finished. They are like a Coach leather
briefcase. Highest possible recommendation.

Yup, that's mine, even the color match is spot-on. I think the red one would also look really nice.

I originally had a similar design Griffin leather case up until October, but it literally started falling to pieces in less than six months; the stitching was coming undone, and the leather lamination over the "frame" started coming completely apart.

The Sena cases are beautiful to look at and use, are exquisitely made, and looks like they would wear forever; the craftsmanship is superb.

A no. of people have seen mine and commented on how nice it is; I learned about Sena from Borderdog, a member here who doesn't post much.

I also like it because it's quite thin for an iPad case and does not add much bulk to the iPad itself.
It's like carrying a thin paper notebook around.

BTW, it's pronounced "Senna", just like the famous F1 driver.

I bought the 16GB WiFi a few months back for controlling my Bryston BDP-1....I also have the Sena Florence leather case in black with the Zagg screen protector. The reason I went with the 16GB is I really don't use the Ipad for more than controlling the Bryston.....maybe check my email every now and then so for me the extra memory wasn't needed.

That's cool you can control your Bryston with your iPad, Jeff. What app do you use for that?
