Besides my "go-tos" you and Bart, I get my suggestions from magazine reviews (Jazziz, Stereophile, TAS, Hi-Fi News), Blue Note emails, and my local jazz radio station (Seattle area KNKX).

Joel, you are certainly one of my sources, as is Tony, and earlier in this thread Dean, and a couple of others with excellent taste.
Besides that: magazines (we have a brilliant jazz magazine in Flemish 'Jazz & Mo', 'Stereo' in German, Stereophile, TAS,...), reviews, hi-res download shops with good taste (e.g. Sound Liaison).
I also always try the weekly new releases on Qobuz.
And I let myself guide by Roon.

Bart, thanks for sharing!

I’m really glad I found you guys, it’s been a real joy discovering so much great music over the past couple of years [emoji120]

On a Helen Merrill journey the last days.
She could be very enchanting.

It's not all equally good - you all know I really don't like strings. But at that time, it was difficult to escape them when you were a vocalist.
The tracks with Brownie are fabulous.

This four-LP box set, whose contents have been partly reissued on CD, has all of singer Helen Merrill's output for Mercury; only two selections for the Roost label in 1953 precede these definitive recordings. Merrill, whose warm voice was always both distinctive and flexible, could hold her own with the best jazz musicians of the era. Best known of her recordings are her classic collaborations with Clifford Brown on seven selections arranged by Quincy Jones (including "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To" and "Falling in Love With Love"), but almost as significant was a notable album on which she employed the little-known Gil Evans as arranger, a year before he teamed up with Miles Davis for Miles Ahead. Other Mercury dates include work with the Johnny Richards Orchestra, arranger Hal Mooney, flutist Bobby Jaspar, and pianist Bill Evans. Highlights include "Glad to Be Unhappy," "Spring Will Be a Little Late This Year," "Anyplace I Hang My Hat Is Home," "Where Flamingos Fly," and "The Things We Did Last Summer," but all 62 selections are well worth hearing. Highly recommended.

This thread is a tremendous resource. Roon is also very good as are human-curated radio stations (WGBO in Newark NJ for example).
The Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings is extremely useful. Seek out their reference recordings to start.

Herbie Hancock - "Gershwin's World" available on Qobuz in 24/192.
Check out "Summertime" with guest vocalist Joni Mitchell!

An underestimated album IMHO.

Recorded April 14, '62.

Kenny Dorham - trumpet (except track 4)

Jackie McLean - alto saxophone (except track 5)

Bobby Timmons - piano

Teddy Smith - bass (tracks 1-4 & 6)

J.C. Moses - drums (tracks 1-4 & 6)

Listening via Qobuz, and I agree, underestimated.

Default What jazz music are you listening to?

Chris Dingman - Journeys Vol. 1
Inner Arts (2022), via Qobuz

An album of solo vibes improvisations - Dingman is an excellent vibes player, and produces some beautiful music and sounds on this album, but I must say 48 minutes of solo vibes can get a little boring too. Very mellow and calming. Worth a listen.
