Spot of mid '50's for me; Jimmy Giuffre Four and Art Pepper complete Aladdin recordings Vol 3.

The recording is extraordinary.

I compared the DXD (Grimm server via ethernet to the Tambaqui) with the downsampled (!) version (8fs to 4fs) via AES/EBU (benefits from the clocks, thus lower jitter).
Very very close, and both excellent, but the 24/176.4 version just wins. I'll have to do this with other albums to have a more overall view.

This is a really enjoyable album.

First Saturday morning listen. Absolute gem of an album in my opinion, musically speaking. Recordings could have been a tad better but keeping in mind it was 1961....

Blue Hour is a collaboration album by jazz saxophonist Stanley Turrentine and The Three Sounds recorded for the Blue Note label and performed by Turrentine with Gene Harris, Andrew Simpkins and Bill Dowdy. The album was reissued in 2000 with an additional disc of unreleased recordings, as Blue Hour: The Complete Sessions (Blue Note 24586). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Hour

Stanley Turrentine - tenor saxophone
Gene Harris - piano
Andrew Simpkins - bass
Bill Dowdy - drums
