Default What jazz music are you listening to?

Rudresh Mahanthapa - Bird Calls
ACT (2015), via Qobuz

Wonderful album. Adam O’Farrill on trumpet is an excellent partner to Mahanthapa’s brilliant sax, and the rhythm section really drives things.

Playing this very pleasant album again. I’m a sucker for a nice version of “Send in the Clowns,” one of my favorite standards. Classic ECM sound and dreamy pacing, but if you want rhythm and energy, look elsewhere.
