Thanks a lot for the tips!! Thats great and really helps.

Is it possible to switch on the volume stabilizer function? When I change between radio stations the volume jumps considerably.

- Do you guys use the Sooloos metadata generally?

- Do you know if it makes a difference to enable the secure rip function on the control mac settings?

Regards,

Carl

Yes, I generally use the Sooloos supplied metadata except I like to substitute higher resolution cover art and except on the rare occasions when Sooloos doesn't recognize the album. You can go back to the start of this thread for more tips on this.

I can't say whether it helps or not to use the secure rip function because that is the only way I've done any ripping.

Hi All,
I have been living with my MC200 for a week now and am really happy with it. I must admit I was kinda expecting an interface on the ipad with more options..... Is it just me or is the copy on the sooloos app somewhat misleading.....?

I was wondering. I have noticed that there are a few of my CDs that the sooloos metadata is not picking up where as the itunes one does in an instant...... Is there a way to override/solve this problem without having to type in all the info? Im using controlMAC software and even when I check the 'prefer metadata over sooloos metadata service' box, it still doesn't make a difference.

Also is there a way to turn off itunes from uploading songs when entering a new CD? its a bit annoying to have to cancel the upload before searching the sooloos metadata.

Regards, Carl

Yes the iPad app could be much better.

Did you try this tip from the first post in this thread?

Loading tip #2) To import metadata on files the Sooloos does not find: From the Control PC/Mac in the editing screen select "Update Metadata" at the bottom and enter the 10 digit AMG Album ID number from the lower left side of the AMG web page for that album. The number of spaces is important when entering this number, keep in mind the number is 10 digits long so if you see R 6209 you know there are 5 spaces. Also when doing this during importing, I find it works better if you leave the artist's name blank and only have the Album Name and AMG Album ID number entered.

The Sooloos system uses All Music Guide for metadata, if you want to check the metadata first simply go to the All Music Guide web site.

Go to Itunes Preferences and you can turn off the preference for uploading songs immediately and also asking whether you want itunes to upload. I am not sure if you can tell itunes not to search for the metadata and show it on the screen automatically which is very annoying.

Hi Guys,

Many thanks for the tips!!!! I missed this function of adding the ID number! This will help a lot. I will try it out this evening after work.

I would like to change the name of one of my 'Tags'. I have already used this one extensively, so deleting and starting over would not be my first choice. I see where I can delete the Tag, but I can't find an 'edit'.

I don't think you can edit a tag but here is a simple way to accomplish what you want:

Focus on the tag you want to rename, then hit the pencil at the bottom right of the Control 10/15 screen, then hit select all at the bottom left, then hit add/remove tags at the bottom, then create a new tag with the new name you want, the newly created tag will automatically be highlighted, then deselect the old tag name by tapping the tag twice to turn it red, then hit save changes.

This should work for you.

Hi, Reg. I don't have any tags set up yet, but did you try doing the edit in Control Mac? It looks like you can do it from there. Click on "Show Album Details", then click on "Edit Album", and then click on "Tags". It looks like you can do it from there.
