I have been using Cable Isolators for several years now with great success, which are similar to the cable elevators.

Grant...Thanks for your lengthy response.
I could imagine that being in the audio cable business is a difficult & challenging one. A market segment which unfortunately over the past two decades has been tarnished by unscrupulous operators from manufacturing all the way down to retail. Many of which are competing and peddling high cost, low value audiophile exotica with spurious & subjective claims without sound scientific basis. Along comes Shunyata, a company that claims to be dispelling the myths by attempting to bridge the electrical sciences with the infantile acoustic sciences. If Shunyata's end game is to achieve this through the development of verifiable scientific methodologies then it has the potential to turn the industry upside down. Your customers are buying into the belief of this story along with product reputation garnered through other end user-experiences. The challenge of meeting customer expectations originates from a company's own business development framework philosophy & its degree of willingness to be proactive to market demand and feedback. In this age, that demand & feedback loop exists through six degrees of separation. With the internet as the primary communication vehicle, information is instant and requires vigilance in business for ongoing survival. With transparency and effort, business have the opportunity to tap into the enormous market potential this rapid information exchange offers. Forums like AudioAficionado.org are a valuable commodity to sponsor's like yourself. This forum fosters a positive and welcoming experience, but it is also straight down the line when it needs to be, as members here have each other's back. That's what gives this fast growing community integrity. We would like your company to be a part of the philosophy that this forum promotes. Good luck. Last edited by MyPal; 06-05-2012 at 12:51 AM. |

Thank you for your considered reply, Steve.
To your comments: >>If Shunyata's end game is to achieve this through the development of verifiable scientific methodologies then it has the potential to turn the industry upside down.<< I'd offer that the DFE's are the case in point, as were the original models. --Yes, the carbon in the polymer makes it impossible to achieve a smooth, grain-free surface. And I agree, you should have had the brochure with tech details in the box. These sheets arrived yesterday. The DFE concept is the _opposite_ of conventional theory and is explained in the patent. Credible technical people such as Harley and electronics engineers understand the science behind the product. Harley, Atkinson, Mickelson, Fremer, Valin and many others compared the (original) DFE's to conventional isolators and use the DFE's. This, despite their unpolished conductive-foam construction. DFE's are intended to be placed under cables, which should minimize any 'appearance under lights' issues. The DFE v2's trapezoidal form and light weight construction are intentional, but I understand aesthetic-value is important to many, especially as a first impression. Any traditional elevator or isolator will be better than leaving cables on the floor. Posted comments, the DFE's Accessory Of The Year award and industry feedback speak to the fact the DFE's are a credible product with solid design and engineering behind them, regardless of some of the views expressed here. The reason for my original post was to specifically address the issues you raised and most importantly, to help you with your retailer or a return. I'd be happy to work with you should you wish to call or write. Thank you again for your comments and response. Grant Shunyata Research Last edited by GrantS; 06-05-2012 at 05:10 PM.
