This article shows that most of Krell's management are veterans at Krell, which is good.

Unfortunately, this is how business goes. Entrepreneurs either go the way of Steve Jobs at Apple, or Dan at Krell. When you go asking for money from business men, you need to make sure you are being a businessman also.
I know I have my first Krell piece, a circa 1999 KAV-300r receiver, headed to my house right now. As long as Krell can provide any needed service, I am a happy camper. From their aggressive marketing and product announcement, I bet all will be good. This is my first post on this awesome BB, so be kind! Mikeylee Last edited by Mikeylee; 03-21-2011 at 12:27 AM. |

I have a Krell KBX crossover that needs to be reprogrammed to the correct frequencies. It took 5 days and numerous calls and emails before getting through. I talked with Patrick about getting it serviced. He said he didn't know when they would be able to get to it if they would be able to get to it. Krell doesn't provide the schematics so I can't get it done anywhere else. Customer service makes or breaks a high end audio company.
You talk about Steve Jobs and the business men. When the internet boon had Sun computers everywhere and their stock was riding high, they were 30 minutes from buying Apple. It would have happened except for a problem with an investment banker. By the Sun execs admission, if they had bought Apple, there would be no iPod, iPhone, etc. It took Steve Jobs to get back on track taking the Xerox inventions of the early 70's to market like Mac OS, the mouse, the iPad, etc. |
