I considered the K-03 as one option when I was looking to replace my MCD-500 and Esoteric D-07 combo, but was disappointed that it only had one each of optical and one RCA terminated digital input so it was a no go.

A lot of sense here although perhaps you like the Weiss sound signature. Why not buy a matching Jason transport for it?

I would be concerned just buying a transport from another brand when it comes to re-sale. Not too many people looking to buy just a transport. Most people seem to want the full pairing or just a dac.
