These ESOTERICs are built like tanks and are accurate as can be.

I already told my dealer to never let me get rid of my UX-1pi in a moment of weakness. Really amazing players.

Owned one, sold it, lost a lot of money. I don't think i'll be spending a ton of money for a CD/SACD player again.

They sure as hell are soundly constructed.Enough to put many other players - & even a number of amp's - to shame...Though the X-01D2(as will the X-03SE) will soon be supplanted by a new model sporting 32-bit DAC's,PCM up-sampling & PCM>DSD up-conversion.
I'm told that we can expect their arrival some time around the turn of the year.

Looks like the are moving towards the design of their separate transports and DAC's which is a big plus compared to the older single box units. I like the look.
