Yarbird, you are absolutely right, it is only offered with the new K-01x in which the masterclock 22M can be enabled and fed from a separate source.

You should note my comments on the 10M that strangely enough, Esoteric has implemented the output from the Rubidium 10M module and made it go through a PLL which effectively converts this from the raw 10M sine wave to a TTL squarewave.

Most would argue this is another unnecessary stage as your K-01 can accept a sine wave 10M and cannot see how it is possible that the G-01's TTL can be superior to the sine wave. TTL unfortunately, adds more jitter to the signal.

This would have been designed for the earlier Esoteric units which could not accept a 10M input directly or using with other brands converters. If the masterclock setting of 22m and 24m is not an improvement, i would think if the Esoteric R&D team knows that, a new version of the Esoteric clocks would be in development to enable a direct 10M output from their clocks.

But again, that would effectively cannibalize their sales as the raw SRS 10M module with a nice PSU would only cost a fraction and essentially identical in function.

Good point, Justubes. One would hope, that as interest builds for precision outboard clocks, Esoteric would indeed revise that design element of the G-01 for greater flexibility and superior performance! ...and while I'm at it, a price drop wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit... As it stands, outboard clocking benefits are limited with the older generation of one box players. Though I stress, whether the designs are completely compatible or not, it is still far better to "clock than not!!"

I just re-syncd both my K01-x and G01 clock to the Masterclock setting of 22M.

OMG... the SQ is just crazy; this combo is the gift that keeps giving!

Bart... Of course this rig is here in Cape Cod, my Accuphase ref system is in Florida.

The Burmester/Aida system has the advantage since it not only has 800 hours on it, but I have the room fully treated. Additionally, I have spent 2 years tweaking every aspect.

So, if I had to answer you question today; the Esoteric combo is the better one at this point.

Pushing another 2 buttons on the G-01 gives another quantum jump in OMG factor

The tweaking of the clock with even better isolation, tweaks, cables, imo can lead to unbelievable further improvements!

I have 2 HRS DPX damping plates on top of the G01. Both the K01x & G01 are on 4 Stillpoint SS feet, and both reside on an HRS M3X shelf / SXR rack. All WW Platinum cables are in play too.

Ivan, you could make a call and get the folks at wireworld to make you a 15cm WW platinum with a sma connector for linking the rubidium module.

It is said to be another next step towards ecstasy!
