Randy........I am using Rollerblock Jr.'s under the K-03 in the studio rack but not at this moment under the K-03 in the Salamander rack in the living room system. I have three more Rollerblock Jr.'s that I plan to use under this K-03 but I have to adjust the shelving down by a small margin under the MR85, MS750 and the K-03 to make room for the component's higher elevation when on the Rollerblock Jr.'s.

I love seeing such nice digital gear. These digital front-ends are starting to get so refined.

Do you have any comments on how much you listen to digital vs. analog, and how these sources compare in your system? Vinyl is magic no doubt, but how is hi-res content working for you?

Josh.......My percentage of analog to digital listening is about 15% vinyl, 85% digital. I love vinyl and have been transported into wonderful listening sessions many times with analog, but just like all sources there's plenty of mediocre and worse vinyl recordings. The medium is not necessarily where all the magic is found. I spun vinyl and reel to reel tape for 20 years before the compact disc was invented, so I am no stranger to analog.

My digital front end definitely competes with vinyl and in many respects surpasses it in sound quality. I love the dynamics, the ultra black silence, the astonish clarity, and the convenience digital offers. I am not interested in the discussions that challenge one format over the other. I get great enjoyment from both sources.

One thing is certain. The Esoteric K-03 is the very best digital source and DAC I have ever owned. I have a feeling these two players will be around for awhile.
