Jim.......I hear it differently. Background listening to me can include any number of other things happening while I enjoy music. I can be on the computer in my office, in the dining room having a meal, enjoying a book or magazine, or having conversation with someone. In all of these circumstances my ears are always tuned to the quality of the music being played, even when it is at low volume. I can easily hear the difference between MP3 streams and 16Bit/44kHz from a component and always prefer the latter even at background levels.

I have not inquired about the delay of the maple shelves. Please understand I have not formed any negative beliefs towards Steve or his company, he has been extremely pleasant to work with. He told me last week that the shelves would most likely ship in a couple of days so I was hoping to receive a shipping notice by now....maybe tomorrow. My main concern is that Ivan is certain his shelves and the rack/support for shelves all arrive so that he has not wasted a trip. I can say that the part that I have now is very nice, haha, but I obviously cannot give a complete review of the rack system without the shelves. I am just very anxious to have all my gear on the new rack and finally get my TT set up. I do not know if this kind of wait is normal for all of Steve's customers but from the first conversation I had with Steve I did not expect it to take quite this long.

Trey........Disappointing to say the least. I don't think Ivan will be a happy camper if his Blinn rack comes dribbling in over weeks in a piecemeal delivery.
