It seems our gear is similar. I love the KO3x. You will not be disappointed. It goes great with the Mac gear, sonically and otherwise. Congratulations. Welcome to the club.

I guess so! That makes me feel even better about the purchase today. The Salon 2's, C2500, and Silenzio...Very similar systems

Steve,
Frequently the point is brought up regarding the merits of an onboard DAC with the C2300 vs C2500. I will be interested to hear your impressions of the K03X DAC(s) vs the C2500, if you plan to run it that way. I could not be happier with my Esoteric, but truth be told it was the first CD player I've had since the first Bush was President. However, I believe the K03X is much better sounding than the Mac D100 it replaced.

Congrats.

I actually have never used the DAC in the C2500 as I've always used outboard DAC's (currently Bryston BDA-3 and PSA Directstream currently). As much as I love the DS DAC, it will be going up for sale to make room for the K-03X. The C2500 was intended more as a clean two-channel preamp with a decent MC phono stage for my turntable. I'm pretty excited to hear how the Esoteric/McIntosh combo sounds.
