Default D-07 D/A Converter

Regarding the Esoteric D-07 D/A Converter: I really love my older stock Esoteric DV-50. Does the Esoteric D-07 DAC come close to the 50's sound? If better, please explain why. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on one. Simply stated, I am a firm believer in last years technology at today's prices. Any relevant replies will be greatly appreciated.

I owned both the Esoteric X03-se and the original D-07 (not the x) and I feel the D-07 was a better DAC.

Wow really Jim? I've had the X03-SE and a P/D-05 combo and felt the X03 was the better DAC. Also owned a D-07 for about 6 months, and I found the D-05 killed the D-07 in terms of sounding far more analogue, organic and natural.

I finally got off my duff and pulled the trigger and purchased the D-07 "Exhibit Stock". It arrived today and at first tune it's WOW! What an outstanding upgrade. The D-7 towers above my much loved CAL Alpha. Way Jazzed!
