Default WW Silver Eclipse Speaker Cable--First Impressions

A new pair of two meter WW Silver Eclipse 6 speaker cables went into my system just 4 days ago!

Although I only have a little over 12 hours of break in on these cables I am already beginning to hear some superb sound reproduction!

Some of my first impressions:

I was pleasantly surprised to find that despite this WW cable being silver coated it is definitely not a bright cable. In fact, it makes my Alpha-Core Goertz MI2 (copper) cables sound quite bright in comparison.

Compared to the Goertz cable the Silver Eclipse delivers the treble in a softer sounding presentation. At the same time I am hearing a lot of detail that is fatigue free and that, in a large measure, simply nails the timbre of voice and instruments!

Sharper treble sounds of upper brass or precussion instruments are reproduced with the proper snap and bite by the quick sounding Silver Eclipse.

Bass is just outstanding, and I can now easily follow the bass lines in some recordings that I could not clearly make out with the Goertz cables. PRAT (Pace, Rhythm And Timing) is truely superior and involving too.

I am really looking forward to the WW Silver Eclipse breaking in further.

Roger

Roger, it gets even better. Don't panic if you hit some rough spots, they smooth back out. At about 150 hours they should have settled in nicely. I absolutely love mine.

Ivan.......I hope you don't mind whistling.

Honestly, I am so pleased with the Wireworld Silver Eclipse speaker cable on my Anniversario's that I don't see myself making any changes to something working so well.

I am coming to the conclusion that the WW Silver Eclipse speaker cables should be matched with either silver or silver-clad ICs for the right tonal balance.

My impressions from experimenting with different silver, silver-clad and copper ICs in my system is that the high frequencies through the Silver Eclipse speaker cables sound too dull/rolled off with copper ICs.

At the premium price point of the SE speaker cables it would be intended that they would be matched with the top ICs from WW's loom--either Platinum, Gold or Silver Eclipse--all of these ICs silver or silver-clad cables.

The equivalent substitute silver or silver-clad ICs from other companies might or might not be a good match with this speaker cable.

Therefore, I am now planning to purchase several pairs of WW Silver Eclipse IC cables so I will have all WW loom cables in my system.

Roger

I look too this model from WW.

I use a kimber Monocle XL but I think that the WW have more "sound" / sounstage, no analytic and cold sound like a Kimber in silver....

I will have this for the speakers and a couple of Xlr between preampli and cd/dac.

At approximently 70 hours of break in time on the WW Silver Eclipse speaker cables the sound is opening up.

With the combination of the WW Platinum USB, Silver Electra power cables, AZ Silver Reference and silver-clad Van Den Hul D-102 II ICs . . . .

The sound produced through the WW Silver Eclipse speaker cable KICKS ASS!

Excellent large scale and micro dynamics, tons of non-fatiguing detail and soundstage clues with balanced sweet tone!

I'm really starting to love this cable!

Roger
