I love my MC501's....which I have owned for about 12 years (I own three, all on duty in my main living room system). If I were to upgrade, the likely candidate(s) would be a trio of MC611's.

Pete there's no reason to upgrade. The 501s are real keepers. My 601s are the last Amps I'll buy for my main system.

Jim....yes, McIntosh really did come up with a winner with the MC501. The look great (especially with Ivan handles), and the certainly sound wonderful. They have also been very reliable....nary a hiccup or problem of any kind for 12 years.

Technically the MC275 is a stereo amp that can be bridged. As far a pure tube mono, what happened to this one...
