Julio Resende
Fado Jazz Ensemble
This is a great record. A perfect mix of jazz and the emotions and sadness of Fado, a traditional portuguese genre.
You can find it on Tidal

Kenny Barron Trio - Book of Intuition - excellent work indeed, I fail to understand why some labels don't put more attention to the sound quality of their recordings

John Coltrane & Don Cherry - The Avant-Garde
Qobuz 24/96

I stumbled upon this album via Roon.
Wasn't aware of this cooperation.
We see Coltrane in a Ornette Coleman role here, but you can easily recognise his sound.

Recorded in June & July '60, but only released in '66.

John Coltrane – tenor and soprano saxophone
Don Cherry – cornet
Charlie Haden – double bass (tracks 1:1, 2:1)
Percy Heath – double bass (tracks 1:2, 2:2, 2:3)
Ed Blackwell – drums

Ella Fitzgerald - sings the Duke Ellington song book
with Duke Ellington and his Orchestra
Qobuz 24/192

Ella's Song Books are always in rotation here.

This is a special one, because it is the only one where the composer participates.
With Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson.
Billy Strayhorn helps arranging.
Add all the stars from Duke's orchestra itself and you get a truly great set.

I love this album, and the reissue sounds great.

I think hell must be freezing over: while searching for a link for the cover photo, I found the Tone Poet vinyl on Walmart.

Listening again to this gem.
