A little off topic, but I have a couple of Sigma power cords that have 20amp IEC plugs.
I want to switch them to 15amp plugs, but cannot seem to be able to disassemble the plug.
Other power cords have been easy to do this swap, but not sure if Shunyata glues these plugs or not.
Any recommendations??

One option would be to leave the plugs as-is and buy a 20A to 15A IEC adaptor.

You can't (and shouldn't) dissemble the plugs because they are internally potted.

I would reach out to Shunyata directly and see what they can do for you.

I have an ARC Ref5se, Ref2se phono and a Marantz SA10, all connected to an Everest. Sigma XC on the Everest and Black Mamba CX on the source components. I also have Parasound JC1+ amps plugged into a Denali V2, Sigma XC on the Denali and Black Mamba CX HC on the amps. I made the mistake of trying a Sigma V2 NR on the Marantz and was shocked by how much it crushed the Black Mamba CX. Deeper bass, bigger sound stage and less edginess with digital strings. The specific issue I'm focusing on is improving the digital tone of massed strings on some of my golden age classical recordings. Specifically Bruno Walter and George Szell. I'm getting pretty close, but the Sigma V2 NR finally got me there.

Anyway, I have a decision to make I can go one of two ways:

1. Three Sigma V2 NR's for the Marantz and the Parasound.
2. Two Sigma V2 NR's for the Parasound and three Alpha V2 NR's for my source components.

Number 2 is a little more, but it gives me two more cords to sell used so the spread isn't really to bad. I can't swing five Sigmas, but if I go with #1 I could get two more Sigmas as funds are available. I guess it really comes down to how close the Alphas are on source components.

Opinions would be appreciated.

I would go with #2. The more NR PC's you can put on your system, the better.

Also, I would not "dismiss" the Alpha NR v2s simply because they are one level below the Sigma v2. They are a superb-sounding PC, particularly for source components. They have a beautifully articulated, layered and musical quality with respect to the presentation, and I decided to go with them for my preamp and DAC rather than Sigma. Sigma is amazing, but for my system in my smallish space, it was too much horsepower. Alpha is just right. My guess is if you went with #2, you'd be very happy.

My Esoteric C1X takes 2 power cables , I currently have (2) Alpha NR v2 on it , everything else is Sigma NR v2 . Trying to juggle cables around to see if 2 Sigma
NR v2 on C1X would be much better . Not having luck so far

Not having any luck juggling, or not having any luck determining if Sigma NR v2 would be better?

Over the last few months I have added four Shunyata Sigma NR v2 Power Cords to my system. First came the cords to the monoblock amps. I, too, noticed an increased clarity, depth to the bass, and tone comprehension.

Next I added a Sigma NR v2 power cord to my CD/SACD player. There was further definition to my soundscape.

A few days ago, another Sigma NR v2 power cord went on my Luxman C900u preamplifier. Again, I could hear improvement, including what I consider more information during crescendos.

This is a significant positive development to the sound of my mixed components, and more than I expected!

I just received an Everest, sigma xc, two alpha v2 NRs, and a v14 digital two days ago. I think the Everest needs some burn in time. I saw an old thread saying run a high current fan on power conditioners to help break them in. I also saw you can daisy chain new cables together, and assumedly run the fan at the end. I also also saw non-shunyata burn-in devices are frowned upon so I haven’t done this yet. If anyone knows any reason to not to break in the fan and cables I’d love to hear it.

Now for my very initial findings:
Starting from 0) Niagara 5000 with Tornado 20A, the rest stock power cables. This was purchased last month… I did demo a few hurricane cables, which are better than the tornado. It does sound good but I really dislike the stiff unruly AQ cables and managing them in my particular setup was an eyesore. Unfortunately the return policy for the 5000 is 7 days, which I didn’t read close enough. Anyway, I decided to try nearby Shunyata and I’m glad I did.
1) swapped in the Sigma XC to the 5000 first and Venom digital v14 for the DCS Vivaldi upsampler. Good step up.
2) one alpha v2 NR from Niagara to Preamp: modest improvement. Remember stock cables are still on the dac and amps.
3) moved that alpha plus the other alpha for 2x McIntosh 2301s straight to wall… good lord. Stock cords on DAC and preamp. I never did compare wall vs Niagara 5000 and its current reserve with the Alphas.
4) moved upsampler, dac (stock cable), and preamp(stock cable) from the 5000 to the Everest. Kind of clouded things up a bit. Maybe digitized? Less analog than before.
5) moved amp alpha cords to Everest. I think a little cloudier, but marginally so.

That was the first day’s notes. I think the Everest has opened up a great deal but I haven’t subbed in the 5000 again to compare. I will again next week. Those power cords though, amazing out of the box. I’ve occasionally swapped the alpha cables to the preamp and dac with stock cables back to the amps. Still sounds good but a step backwards, so I’m leaning towards equal or better cords on the amps. The piecemeal approach is to see if the monoblocks pair better with the wall or the Everest, which would require longer cables and are non-refundable had I gone all in from the jump. The end goal is two more alphas, or maybe maybe sigmas for the monoblocks with the alphas on dac and preamp duty. I could in theory do deltas on the dac and preamp and have that extra cash for sigmas on the amps but I bet two levels of difference cancels out some of the sigma gains. The DCS upsampler’s v14 digital should be good enough for digital to digital, but of course tempted for maybe a delta NR to check. Another v14 digital for the ether regen seems like a good idea too.

Pardon the rambling. Other questions in my head are if monoblock power cables must be the same length (was thinking standard 1.75 plus a 2.25) and if AES and clock cables must be the same length. 1.5M seems to be the minimum to prevent reflections on 44.1, but if upsampled I think that is shortened? Anyway, what a hobby.

Nice write-up. Bear in mind that Everest needs a minimum of 3-4 days to settle and a good 10 days or so to fully settle and open up. It will improve and open up quite a bit in that time. Also, if the power cord (I'm assuming Sigma XC) for powering Everest has not been burned in with a fan for 4-5 days first, then Everest's maximal performance will be held back somewhat until you get more hours on the power cord. It's fine and actually, very effective, to burn in PCs using a fan. You can connect the PCs using one of Shunyata's burn-in adapter cables, and its a good idea to power down the fan for a brief time (couple hours/day) and then re-connect to the fan, but you should be good to go in 4-5 days. And, you can alway power your amps straight to the wall, and then power your pre and source components with Everest if that works best in your system.

Also, it's much more effective with respect to knocking down noise to have less expensive Shunyata NR power cords throughout your system rather than 1 or 2 more expensive ones on just 1 or 2 components, and then using generic black power cords on the other components. This is so that the NR filter on the PCs can keep noise from your components' power supplies from allowing noise from inside the component to escape and spread inoise to the rest of the amplification components in your power distribution chain. This is because most components use FWBR (full wave bridge rectifier) power supplies that generate an incredible amount of transient noise when the rectifiers switch off. The design of a power cable can significantly affect the reactance of these signals within the power supply. This is why the NR filter is at the component end of the PC. And, this is why Shunyata makes NR power cords across a range of price points. For example, if one had a budget of $2K for power cords, you'd be better off using 4 x $500 Venom NRv10s throughout your system, than a single $2K Alpha NR v2 PC on, say, a power amp.

So, if there are budget constraints, consider using Venom NR v10 or Delta NR v10 PCs on your other components, before springing for more expensive PCs for only the amp or preamp, for example. The Venom NR v10 and Delta NR v2 PCs should not be disregarded simply because of their price point; they provide excellent DTCD performance and will blow stock or non-NR PCs into the weeds with their ability to reduce noise from power supplies. The Delta NR v2 PC, in particular is a kick-*ss PC for the money; it outperforms the original Alpha NR v1 PC for half the cost.

Oh, and another thing; don't put Everest down on a carpeted floor. It doesn't sound its best that way; put it on a board or piece of slate if your room or area where Everest resides is carpeted. I find those bamboo IKEA cutting boards work a treat. Place the board onto the carpet surface with some hard or damping (not "dampening") footers; even those cubical wooden blocks from a hobby store will work fine here. If you've got the budget, Herbie's Tenderfeet or IsoAcoustics footers would be even better.
