Hi David,

We are currently in talks with McIntosh to provide a solution for MB-100 customers who rely on the WebUI. Currently, the only workaround is to control the device via an iOS or Android device via the MediaBridge app. We have already brought this update to the MS-500 and hope to have a similar solution in place for the MB-100 soon.

Cheers,
Michael

This is excellent news. I posted in another thread that the mms-5a just got their html5 web interface upgrade, but the mb100 is still left using flash, as you are all aware. Kind of disappointing considering my 2 units have build dates of 2017, but this info keeps me hopeful. Many thanks for connecting to autonomic.

Crossing my fingers, toes and anything else I can cross that both McIntosh and Autonomic-Controls will follow-through. If I understand you correctly, you have to MB100s? I do as well. I anticipated being delighted with a WebGUI update. Until then, I am able to use smart device APPs, AirPlay and I have an old copy of Windows 10 that will still run in virtual mode that will still render Flash.

I still believe I mastered for the large part, the MB100.

Hi, yes I have 2 mb100s, and have modified them as much as possible. Mine have build dates from 2017. I use the flash web interface the most because it's the most convenient for me.

It's easy for me to be an armchair quarterback, but I'm frequently scratching my head on this one. Autonomic just released a major update for their MMS-5A, for which the mb100 is based on.

It would be reasonable to assume that one of McIntosh's core values is product longevity - that's one of the reasons to justify the price, etc. But with the massive mistakes on the ms300 and ms750 products, and firmware logistic concerns on other products, that McIntosh would be dedicated to righting the ship. But here we are, with a major function of the mb100 outdated, along with the security concerns of having the mb100 on a network, and we're in the dark as to if the mb100 will ever be updated again. Mine are only less than 4 years old. No trade-up program? No communication at all for concerned customers? I think the whole experience has soured me a bit on the brand, especially how easy it seems to do the right thing, especially if Autonomic can do it for their old products. You can get an MMS-5A on eBay for a couple hundred bucks, and it's getting fresh firmware updates.

Both McIntosh and Autonomic-Controls designed the MB100. You may contact McIntosh Support as well as Autonomic-Controls. Depending on your question, either of the vendors may off-load you to one or the other for support.

The following is a somewhat useful KP provided by Autonomic-Controls.

That’s great!
How did you find the unusual ones?

Still no flash update?
You can run flash 32 player debug and make it work. Easy to use.

I extracted [mirrored / backup] the OS some 5-6 years ago and explored.

For whatever it is worth at this point, I found out that the Autonomic MMS-5A had 3 revisions along its lifetime. Rev3 was a major one that the new board ran on 12V instead of 19V on Rev1/2. This makes MB100 either Rev1 or 2.

They also migrated from Windows to Linux with Rev3. Essentially recompiled the C# SW with the same functionality.
They have an update process that migrates the OS as well from earlier Revs.
Should work equally well on MBs.
There is also one last update for Windows that replaces Flash with Html.
Was @Golucid not in contact with Support and got an upgrade promise?
ETA?

One of my two MB100s opted to fail. The system hung up on 'Processing' and would not boot up.

I suspect the issue is with the MOBO.

I verified this by returning the system to the original unaltered configuration, including the original never used factory SSD and Spinner drive. I also returned the original ram back into the unit.

I made an additional attempt to boot the unit, and the MB100 remained at 'Processing.'

I contacted McIntosh and was provided an RMA. As of today, the unit is in at the McIntosh Factory.

I suspect it may take weeks or months to receive the unit repaired, if possible.

I am guessing the MB100 could now be at an age that owners may begin to experience failures.
