I read about it somehere IIRC there was some contraversey about the dual platter design that was maybe a selling point. I can't remember where maybe AK before I left .

I think any number of the less costly VIP products below thier TOTL would be fine *with me *

I'm 100% lossless spinning metal or 1441kbps lossless streaming digital now .Nothing wrong with good vinyl or a good table though .

WTF!!!! at 35K and I have to LIFT the tone arm MANUALLY!!! Then walk back to MY SEATING position to enjoy this ear candy!! BAH!

I heard (or didn't hear, depending on your perspective), the big Dog version with a different power supply and the Sparta -the one in this thread. Apart from the counter-platter, which is a serious piece of engineering, the arm design was also very clever- unipivot, but readily removable to replace pre-mounted cartridges in extra arm wands in a flash. Thing is really well made overall. I don't plan on upgrading my table anytime soon, but....

the picture is of the kronos kronos, not the entry-level sparta.
it's closer to $40k.
