Cartridge signal is in milli-volts; it is fragile. I'd put both the phono- and linestage in the back position and run longer ICs from linestage to amp. Is the amp balanced?

I think we all need a field trip to Toga's to figure this out.

IMO

Buying the turntable is a lot better way to spend $$ than on the Q7 mk2.

And a lot more fun

I am sure the MKII upgrade will be there in the future, would love to listen to Toga's set up one time. Can I invite myself if I am in the neighbourhood Toga ? :-)

Toga is a very gracious host. I met him when I visited Bangkok and I had a really good time.

Make sure to visit the hifi store with him. It is very impressive to see all the high end brands in one place. I've never seen anything like this anywhere else.

Paragon is where you have the SF/Mac/ARC/... store and quite an impressive mall with lambo, RR, MacLaren,... dealerships on the third floor.

Toga took me to another place where it was like Adelphi with only audio stores. I found it to be more impressive than Adelphi (which is clearly not bad as well).

I have planned to put new TT and phono stage in separated rack in that corner
since started. But later realized they will be 5-6meters away from line stage and power conditioner. I managed to get 6 meters long IC already. but need to move PCond closer
and find longer Pcord for phono preamp. A month ago almost order a 2-shelf high special size CMS Maxxum, just for this new TT and phono stage. But one night I realized how much I already spend in this hobby then I changed my mind. I need to control my impulse spending habit on this hobby. Even the TT, if I can changed my mind, I think TW AC single motor should be just fine. haha.

Olaf, you're surely welcomed, if my flight schedule allowed. I remember you worked in the gulf of Thailand before right ?

The Siam Paragon is nothing like Adelphi. It is much better shopping heaven. Adelphi is older, darker, and no where nearly as good listening rooms they have.

Toga, I felt your pain when I relocated my TT. My distances are not as great as yours though. I have a 4m PC to my power conditioner and 3m interconnects from my phono preamp to my preamp. I have my TT directly above my phono-preamp so that is a short distance. With the longer runs I upgraded my cabling also. It sounds great now except I have to hurry a bit to get to the sweet spot as the tone arm is lowering before the first song starts. That is a beautiful system you have there.
