Default Did anyone receive the early purchase email from OPPO

Its appears OPPO is releasing the new OPPO BD player the second week of June to registered buyers before shipping to the open market. I just ordered mine today Decided to hold off on the Pioneer 09 player since I wasn't comfortable with future support due to Pioneer's decision to exit the market.

Congratulations John on ordering the Oppo - I've had mine since the end of March - running analog outs into my MX119. I have previously written my impressions here at AA - overall I think the player is a terrific bargain at it's price point for being a true universal player with exceptional video quality and decent audio.

You will have to let me know how you like it when you receive and get it set up!

My MX119 will be set up the same way.
For CD's, the MVP871 will be my source, I needed the analog lossless audio on the BD player

I received an email to purchase the new Oppo awhile back. I declined. My offer expired may 19th.

I bought mine that way and I am enjoying it a great deal. Do you think that it is better going analog to the MX-119 or digital?

I am running analog output from the Oppo into my MX119 for lossless Blu-Ray audio and SACD/DVD-A. For DVD/compressed audio (DD/DTS) the digital input sounds better in my system. Note that the separate two channel analog outputs sound better than the multi-channel outputs due to the separate two channel DAC - so my view is that it is worth it to switch to those to use for two channel programming.

Also note that the Oppo (as is the case with most BDPs) has the "DTS Essentials" decoder built in and will not decode DTS ES 6.1 or DTS 96/24 (very few of these) so you will need to use the digital out for the MX119 to decode those.

I agree that it is a great unit. I finally figured it out how to hook it up a little better but I wish that it was little easier.
