I would think that the sound of a horn loaded speaker would be very different than the JM Lab, thus be appealing to a different audience. Plus there is a great price difference between the two. As I quoted, the K9800 can be had now for $11,000 a pair. The SE was $30,000 a pair new some years ago. Isnt that about $90,000 less than JM Lab's Grande Utopia?

Also, HiFi+ did not cite the JBL's dynamic capabilities as their strong poit, but their microdynamic capabilities when they were reviewed by them some years ago.

I am not a fan of speakers with really large woofers. As much as I like BW 800D's and 802D's, I don't care for the 801's. Big woofers usually sound a bit slow and seem to require a very large room. Just my opinion.

I've seen the Everest before. Obviously very nice. But it's too big (wide) for my situation. (so is the price!!!!).

Although also very expensive, I can't help but look with interest at the Project K2 S9900. It's basically the same size as my L220A's (very close, slightly wider, very close in height and depth).

If I had the dough, there would be a good chance I'd be ordering a pair. Or, I'd at least be taking a serious look. Very nice indeed.
