For reference: I dove into power cables and distributors with a healthy amount of skepticism given that my career (25 years plus) is in the recording and mastering field. Couple that with teaching those topics in higher ed, well, you get the idea. In general, most of what we do with cables in this hobby is hotly contested in large proportions in the pro circle, save a few that have "seen" the light so to speak.

My local dealer sent me home with a "brand x" upgrade cable along with a Shunyata cable (my original Copperhead) years ago. An electrician friend of mine and I did a shoot out on my system that evening. Our ears told us everything we needed to know about any supposed opinions or stigmas we had :-)

I can't wait to work these into my system! Thanks again for the help in deciding.
Yes, my initial experience was similar. I had heard of Shunyata when I got back into high-end audio in 2009, but it wasn't until a friend brought over some Shunayata patents for me to read that prompted me to explore further. As a scientist, I was impressed that the performance claims were backed up by a patent that explained the technology and methodology. I bought some Diamondback PCs that were on a 2-for-1 sale, did some listening tests and the benefits they brought were immediately clear. I had my friend who had fist brought me the patents come over; he was skeptical. It was the old "what can the last 5 feet of power cable from the wall to the component do?" question.

Well, when I did the demo for him, he was convinced. And, when I installed the second cable to the preamp, his mouth literally fell open with disbelief.

Suffice it to say, he's now a big advocate for Shunyata's products and has conducted similar demos for his friends.

Same reactions here, lol. We did a two tier test: regular outlets with stock, then upgrade cables, and dedicated line with stock and upgrade cables. In each configuration the Shunyata blew us away. Needless to say the dedicated 10 gauge/Shunyata combo won, hands down.

Update: My plans got derailed in only the best possible way.

My local dealer sent me home with a demo Denali 6000s V1 to try. It will be staying :-)
I'll work on replacing my component and sub cables with Venom V10NR's with a Delta NR for the Denali over time.

The Denali added such a HUGE improvement to my system all on its own. Simply stunning.

Thanks again for all the advice!

Hi everyone.
This thread comes perfect for my situation, so I'm going to ask for advice if is OK with you, good people.

I have a synthesis Roma 510ac tube amp with stock PC to a wireworld matrix 2 power outlet. The Matrix it's feed by an Isotek Evo 3 initium.
I wanted to update and after reading a lot I decided go for Shunyata, step by little step.
So, my dealer offered me a good deal and I can't make a decision.
With my budget I have 2 options:
1Venom hc plus 1 venom nr v12 or
1 delta nr at the same price.

I don't know if go with the venom hc feeding the wireworld matrix and the v12 for the tube amp or go with the delta nr for now feeding the matrix and maybe in a month buy another cord for the tube amp.

The deal on the delta is very good 600 dollars give it or take. It has to be now because is a demo and he got only one left.
He also offered me a viper ztron for 450.
So, the question is how much better is the delta compared with the venom an this with the viper ztron?
I'm having trouble finding the right choice due my limited budget.
I appreciate in advance for any tip and send you all my blessings and Bests.
Thanks so much.
Manu

Hi Manu,

Welcome to Audio Aficionado!

its a little hard to decide what options are best for you given the info provided.

What is your overall budget for power cords? Based on that, it would be easier to make a recommendation.

Cheers.

Thank you give me the welcome here!

My budget right now is around 700 dollars. That's the price of the pack venom hc + v12 or the Delta.
Or the viper ztron + venom hc.
I can spend that amount and in a near future save for another cord.

Regards

Hi Manu,
If you are powering your Roma amp from your Isotek, then I'd recommend getting two of the new Shunyata HC V2 (not the original Venom HC) power cables: One for powering your Isotek and one for powering your Roma integrated. They are $298/each, so they will fit within your budget; I'd put the remaining $100 aside for your next power cable purchase.

If your Isotek uses a C19 plug, be sure to order a Venom HC V2 with a C19 plug.

If you become a subscriber, then check with our fearless leader and founder, MasterLu (Ivan) to see if he can hook you up for your order (I don't know if you are in the USA).
