Default v3.93 Firmware Install

I just installed the v3.93 firmware in my 818v2. Using it as a Sooloos end, balanced out it is astonishing how much better it sounds. First and foremost the background is darker with much more space around the sonic images. Micro details and bass are more pronounced. Dynamics are improved.

I give this a few more days and then install the v3 upgrade kit. Right now I'm pretty shocked especially as no one is really saying much about this latest firmware, both here and on HH...

I will track down the firmware and give it a try. The only thing I saw in the release notes that is sound related is some new FIFO buffer logic. But Meridian being Meridian, there could be a lot more they're not saying. Thanks for the report.

A day later and I'm still surprised by the improvement...

Just installed v3.93. Early impressions are good. I liked the sound before and I wouldn't say I have a different system, but if I had to describe what I think I'm hearing I'd say: 1) more depth in soundstage; 2) more body to the music, even though I can turn it up louder; 3) especially earlier 80s and 90s Rock/R&B discs sound less digital.
