It is definitely easy to get empty wallet syndrome. I originally went in to listen to the MA352. I have settled on the MC462. I am leaning towards the C2700 for the future flexibility of it.

You and I are so similar.

I went to my dealer set on buying an MC462. He had one in stock so I put a deposit down on it for him to hold it for me for a couple of days. Then, two days later I went back and cancelled the MC462 and ordered an MC1502 instead. That only set me back and additional $2300, but in the end I saved money on the deal.

You made the right call OP.

Can't go wrong with that - you may or may not ever use the DAC, but 20 years from now the unit will still be playing (new tubes of course!) and the DAC will still sound good if you are using it. I've got a Benchmark DAC that's about 12 years old, 2 generations (maybe 3?) ago, and while it's no longer my primary DAC, it serves well enough for what I'm using it. I think that while DACs improve faster because they're less 'mature' than the traditional pre- and power-amps, we lose sight that a lot of the reason for getting high end gear is that it's something you can hopefully keep playing for a long time and not need to constantly chase the latest and greatest.

Today I picked up my MC462 today. Now I just have to get it into my house without killing myself. I am looking forward to unboxing it in the morning. I was told by the dealer a price increase is coming February 1st. I ordered the C2700 to go with the new Amp.
