Both do the job very well and sound great, IMHO. The MX123 has more digital inputs (along with the analog ones that you may never use), has a few more surround decoding formats, and has more robust video processing. You also gain a few more audio channels (13.2 vs. 11.2). All that said, I ordered an MX100 as it fits my needs perfectly.
