I too would be interested to know of comments form a user or someone who has auditioned this piece.

I have interest but of late rarely use a spinner. All my Cd's are now ripped and new buys are immediately ripped and loaded into the BDP3. Perhaps a DAC upgrade would be a better choice and potentially save some cash as well.

I’ve had one of these and have well over 6 mo of playtime on it as a cd player only. Been using it with C12000 and rotating in 462, 2301’s or 3500’s. I understand that Mac may have been off to a somewhat rocky start with the product launch. Putting that aside it is truly outstanding sonically. Regardless of what may be said full break in took a few months of steady usage. It is one hell of a value and very highly recommended.

Speculating that there could be a parasitic trace on the board, something you can't even see. Very mysterious. As of yesterday, McIntosh is again trying to see if they can somehow source out a new main board. It's not looking good, it's heartbreaking. Almost three months now, and looking at the prospect that my beloved MDA1000 is unrepairable.
.
I had similar problem with MCD600. Failed within 3 months. Took 6 months to get it repaired. McIntosh kept sending wrong part - so said the repair shop.

Maks-

Because of availability and QC issues, I am looking elsewhere.
Top contender is the Luxman D 07x.
Hope to "steal" a day soon for a ride upstate to AC for a listen.

I have one and love it. Hands down, best sounding cd player I’ve owned. However, the meters are a bit “wonky.”
