So don't laugh at me. I just traded in my MC300 for the MC452 from audio classics. Adjustments to my Blinn rack so it would fit, me struggling to get it in the slot (bad idea), plugging everything in, turn it on, and voila! extreme ground loop noise. I troubleshoot for like an hour and then notice there is a "balanced/Unbalanced" switch on the back of the 452 and I'm using XLR cables with the switch on "unbalanced". Of course i make the correct "adjustments (simply move the switch to the appropriate position) and voila! no buzz!

There is, lets say, very minimal buzz now and i plan on getting a dedicated circuit. Just need some cable cleanup and its good to go..

My first 2 music selections to listen to my new 452:

1. Thomas Newman- "Come Back to Us", 1917 Original Soundtrack
2. Hans Zimmer= "Herald of The Change", Dune Original Soundtrack

Needless to say, I thought the MC300 was good (and it is), this 452 is well, you know...

No laughing here, your system looks great. I'm no stranger to struggling with the heft of McIntosh amps. When I first hooked up my new 1502 and powered everything on I got NO SOUND. Oh, damn! the amp is busted right out of the box... Nope, just switch the input from XLR to RCA and Voila! SOUND. You are by no means unique to this type of snafu.

Freddie and Benz, Hey, I do have to chuckle, at all of us. Who hasn't this happen to all of us? It's a bit like calling Sears Home Services for help and the appliance is not plugged in. Thankfully none of us called Chuck Hinton (I hope). I did this years ago, spent considerable time, and finally discovered that little switch.

Yes, I think an MCD12000 would go great with your system. I notice you like movies and live performances too. Those Klipsch's will play clean at live performance levels.

Best

Charles

Im hoping I never have to move my 462 ever again. I wrestled the brand new unit in oct 2021 to its present spot with kid gloves and a strong back. (And my 2 teenage sons ha)

But ur system looks awesome!

How about moving (10) MC1.2KW’s in one day, w/ 1 son.
