Here you can read how to turn it on.

Thanks WillyP, that's what I was looking for . Now that I see it, I remember that website and the procedure.

I hope at some point Bryston will come with a more up to date way to manage the internal HD. But once it's setup, it works perfect so that's fine.

Just a heads up. Once SMB is activated, I could not see the BDP-3 under network devices not matter reboots both from the computer and BDP-3.
I was able to "see" the BDP-3 after I had the power cord unplugged and the network cable unplugged. So, plugged the power cord back, then powered it up and let it finish the boot sequence and finally, plug the network cable back. After that, I could access like before the BDP-3 thru windows explorer.

For some reasons I cannot see it now under Windows 11. I have a WiFi pod in which the network cable for the BDP is plugged in. I will try plugging it directly to my router and see how it goes. But it sucks I cannot upload my newly ripped CD albums.

My issues are all finally fixed.
Turns out that all was related to a tiny little fuse. I was discussing in another thread about the issues I was having and since I replaced the fuse with the exact same as the original one, the BDP-3 is now as stable as it has always have been.
So Windows 11 and SMB is a non issue. It seems you cannot just power off/power on the unit, unplug/plug the network cable. You need to unplug the whole thing and plug it back. Well, it worked this time. I can now access the BDP folder with my PC so I was able to transfer all my new ripped albums. Yay!
