There was no "upgrade"; there is much speculation about what changed, elsewhere on the forum. I am sure Dan (jdandy) could provide insight.

About the MEN220 settings..

Page one of the handout sheet has the crossover slopes. Here: http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/us/Produ...up-menu-01.pdf

From the MEN220 voicing tool manual, pg 3. http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/us/Produ...r-guide-01.pdf

There are up to six adjustment settings (edit: Presets) for each of the MEN220 Voicing Settings (1-6). The basic filter types of adjustment include the following:
A. Low_Shelf
B. High_Shelf
C. Parametric
D. Low_Pass
E: High_Pass
There are variable adjustments for each filter type, including “gain”, “q” and “frequency”.

Given the above adjustment tools, can the MEN220 meet your need?

What EQ curve settings do you need for your room?

What does the EV DX-38 have that the MEN220 lacks? Here's a cut sheet http://www.electrovoice.com/downloadfile.php?i=1300

It could not do it before then I guess it still can't do it. Not neccesarily EQ for the room but settings to use it as a crossover. Thank you for taking the time to point out what it can do, but I even talked to McIntosh when it first came out and they said it could not be done.
As far as an "upgrade" reading this thread people talk about an upgrade.

Hi all, i have had a new board installed in my MEN 220 in feb and i'm having the same problem with my remote not working either. Also if no music is playing the unit switches off which before it did not?? is this normal.

If anyone has an answer for the remote not working i'm keen to hear answers.

Regards joe.

Two thoughts.

1 - Is the unit set for remote use? I forget the details but there I think there is a setting in the advanced menu related to the remote... I think

2 - The buttons on the remote can 'stick' in make sure they all have some play.

Good luck
Craig

When I first purchased mine it was one of the early ones with the new board and power supply. My remote did not work either. I called McIntosh and they sent me a firmware upgrade file to load from my laptop. You will need a serial interface. Call McIntosh and ask for the file. I will take a look at my MEN220 tonight to see what firmware version I have. Good luck. Jim

Just bought a preowned MEN220 with serial number starting in AER. Does anyone know when Mc changed from ADM to AER?

Many thanks!

You can email Mcintosh direct with the full serial number and they’ll give you the date of production.
