So what you are saying is - if one buys at Transparent Reference XL or Opus MM level, one can tell the dealer, who in turn will tell Transparent (the company) what the SPECIFIC order is for (example - McIntosh C1000T with MC1.2Kw, OR Wavacs PR-T1+833v1.3) and they will "tune" the cable to match those gears. Am I right? Secondly, if one changes his gears later on, would Transparent (the company) again does the switch to the newer gears FOC or is there a charge OR worse, do not do that anymore? At this kind of pricing, better know whats comes with it in service level. I know I may be asking for more info, but if I can search somewhere, let me know. I will check with the local dealer/agent Clarity Audio in Adelphi probably this weekend on same info. Thanks for your time and sorry for being so inquisitive. Cheers!

Yes, you can have Transparent reconfigure the network when you change gear to reflect the interface characteristics of the new equipment. No, as far as I know it's not free of charge, unless your dealer has some magical relationship with them I guess. Stillone is right in that the prices very quickly start to double once you get past Ultra. I have Super in my system right now. I'd be afraid to demo the higher levels, every time I've tried their cables (ICs specifically) I've ended up upgrading. Wait for the special upgrade promotions they run from time to time, last Dec you could trade in ANY manufacturer's cable and get full MSRP towards new Transparent cables. Made it easy for me to upgrade.

Yes, I think you have it correct. I just spoke to my dealer and Transparent will reconfigure the Network Box free of charge if they were purchased from an authorized dealer. You would have to pay shipping. Ji |

I wonder how Transparent would treat someone who buys used Reference XL cables, I wonder what they would charge to redo the networks.

Now that's a consideration to factor into a "used" buying decision!

Oh, he's an Esoteric and Wadia dealer too. I may be in trouble if I go up there!

It is hard to believe but my Ultra's are continuing to change for the better as they break in. What a happy camper I am.

Yep, I still have the Reference XL speaker cables in my system which allowed me to hear all the difference between different cables upstream. I am impressed.
