I had a lengthy wait for my BHA-1 also, but it was well worth it. Its not uncommon for demand to outpace production of any newly released product, be it electronics, or any other consumer goods. Waiting is simply the price of entry.

You know, if the product is that good to be in that demand, good for them! And, the last thing you want is for them to hurry. Given their warranty, they're doing things right on the shop floor. Keep the QC high. Thank god someone is worried more about quality over instant gratification and quantity.

100 hours of on the bench "burn in" and testing doesn't help speed up the process of pushing product out the door. Bryston is doing a terrific job of maintaining quality while at the same time adding new product lines. This, with about 60 employees. It would likely be much easier to schedule time on one of the Chinese mega-factory production lines and just send the specs.

Excellent points, Mike, Rick, Pider, and Steve. I was happy to wait almost six weeks for my SP3, BDA2, and BDP2. I didn't want Bryston to rush, for the reasons you've noted quite cogently. It seems to me that the company is at the right scale for the nature of their products and market. Bryston has been very innovative recently, especially with their digital products and speaker line, and given the reviews and reception of these items, and consequent demand, it's no surprise that there's a bit of a wait. Things worthwhile are worth waiting for. These are, to a strong degree, rather bespoke products for a niche audience that reveres quality. The passion of Bryston's leadership for the products comes through in the performance and in the superb support and customer service that is rare today. Some folks may choose not to wait, for what may be valid reasons, but those of us who do benefit from being part of Bryston's extended family. I'll happily wait for my next Bryston product . . . come on, BOT-1!

Cheerio,

Rich

I placed an order with Audio Advisor on 4/9, and called yesterday to find out if they had any estimate on when the BDA2 will ship, and they go, "We have one in stock.", and it shipped today. That means next Friday it gets the critical Friday night beer and music evaluation test. If it can pass that strenuous test then it is a keeper.

Congratulations, BlueFox:

You've chosen . . . wisely. I connected my BDA2 and BDP2 to my system last night, and the sound was revelatory. You will have a memorable Friday night.

Cheerio,

Rich

It arrived yesterday, Thursday, I swapped out the BDP1, and left it powered on. Tonight, Friday, it is undergoing the exacting and strenuous beer test.

It is a keeper.
