Default BDP-1 USB Questions

I am presently using a MacBook Pro to feed my Luxman DA-06 DSD DAC via USB. My MacBook Pro needs to be used elsewhere, so I'm looking to replace it with either a MacMini or a BDP-1 USB. I'm assuming SQ with the BDP-1 USB will be at least as good as a MacMini, so my questions relate to set-up/ease of use:

1) I've got a 1TB hard drive (maybe 25% full right now) with AIFF files. Do I understand correctly that the BDP-1 USB will accommodate this drive? I thought I read that the previous version of the BDP-1 would not handle a drive of that size. Will this be plug and play for me, or will I have to reformat the drive?

2) I've read posts where people talk about "load times" with the BDP's. What does this refer to? My MacBook Pro is ready to rock the minute I open it up. Is the BDP-1 ready right away, or is there some delay after turning it on before it's ready to play music?

3) Anything else I should consider here?

Between work and a busy family life, I don't have a lot of time to spend listening, so I'd like maintain to the ease of use that I have now. Likewise, I don't have time to mess around with tech problems and get frustrated somewhat easily by them. Is this an easy transition to make?

Thanks for your help!
Paul
