Default Using G-01 Master Clock with other brand?

Has anyone used or tried the Esoteric G-01 Master Clock with other DAC manufacturer brand, like dCS for example? I have always been curious to know if I could improve my current dCS stack by using the Esoteric clock instead of the dCS Vivaldi clock in part because the G-01 has the Rhodium 10Mhz built in which I don't have with the dCS.

Any insight would be appreciated. Jacques

Some people have reported SQ benefits from using a rubidium clock on top od the dCS clock.

Personally, I would rather try the Stanford Research (SRS) clock, as it uses the very same PRS-10 rubidium module as Esoteric, but only costs $3500.

I know of someone who replaced the docs Scarlatti clock with the esoteric g0rb in his Scarlatti stack because the esoteric clock sounded superior.

Hmm...interesting...$2695 USD price

Would this be a reference signal for a dCS clock or a replacement?

In the case of the esoteric, it could be a replacement but i would start with feeding my dcs clock with the esoteric 10Mhz first. Too bad i cant find any used esoteric G01 clock on the market. I also wonder if they will come out with a Grandioso version of the clock. The built quality seem good. Not sure about the srs model though. I once tried the Antelope version but was not happy with it (switching PS!!!!)...

No Grandioso clock on the horizon.

But it is not wise to look for a gr0b, maybe a g01 still ok. I have done some reaserch and a rubidium has a finite lifespan. If it is powered on for 10 years, that is about on it's last legs, meaning close to end of life and better not to buy unless is is almost free or yoy will need to buy a new replacement rubidium oscillator.

The esoterics dont use switching power, all the others do. Specifications wise it still gives a clean signal but sonically the switching power supply costing $20 probably just doesnt sound good, worst i'm not sure, different, yes.

Maybe the g02 may not sound like a rubidium/ atomic clock, but it probably comes very close.

Look at quartlock rubidiums, as good as the unit in the g0

Quartzlock was a small British company making reference clocks for the research community. At my request, they had developed a 10mHz reference clock for HiFi use which I had tested out for them.

Clock performed well although could have used a better psu and case.

Problem now is that the founder/owner has died recently and the future of the business looks uncertain.

It is very unlikely they will offer a standard clock for audio use.
