Not classical exactly, but "The Star-Spangled Banner" as played by the NY Philharmonic, Loren Maazel conducting, from The Pyongyang Concert BD/DVD. I was almost moved to tears the first time I heard it. Really great stuff, the way it should be played.

There are a zillion versions, but my favorite so far is the one by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Louis Lane conducting. If you want to jam, there's ELP's version.

Mozart created a masterpiece with his Serenade #13 for strings in G Major.

Another of my favorites is Sibelius's - Finlandia
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5zg_af9b8c]Jean Sibelius - Finlandia - YouTube[/ame] Part of Finlandia is used in such familiar tunes as Be Still My Soul [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDXNHPeRB0k]The Finlandia Hymn - YouTube[/ame] |
