Then why did it not show up in satellite photos in August 2015?

Those were pretty low resolution google earth images with the only identifying mark being the long shadow cast now that we know what we are looking at. If the previous pics were taken closer to noon, it would not be as visible and it is next to impossible to see an object like that from above.

I'm more interested in the machine like marks and the rather symmetrical split in the rock with the monolith's sharp edge pointing to it. Also, what are those whitish stains? They do not appear anywhere else around there...

I think the split in the rock is from erosion just like the entire area. No machine or alien interaction.

Machine like marks are rivets, surface looks buffed down to try to hide.

I'm talking about machine like marks on the bottom of the split in the rock. Look at how symmetrical that cut is in the ground inline with the split in the rock.

I know that Utah as well as surrounding areas were at one point an ocean, at other times an inland sea... as well as dry land as it is now. But those white stains can't be salt right?

IMHO, most likely erosion or erosion after some seismic event split the rock;all timelines in terms of many centuries. I honestly don't think there is anything more happening here.

News from today say that the monolith has disappeared? Wow, that elevates the
mystery even further. So one more question to be answered.
