Flawless here too but my son's TT has a radar/laser jammer/detector built in.... So does my own TT.

I had a 997.1 C4S for 6 years with no issues...and loved it. 6sp w/X51 upgrade. I would pick 997 over 996 based on interior alone and believe its better sorted. The 997.2 C4S will have the new all wheel drive system..but I had no issues with mine...and enjoyed the drive...did not find the xtra weight to take away from the enjoyment at all. I could have used this as a DD but since I never know when I have to pick up the kids...I use an X5M for that. I also could have been happy with the Porsche for many more years but decided to try the V12 Vantage...a beast of a car that once I drove...I had to have.

A 996 Porsche is a POS in my opinion...
The only reason to buy a 996 is you want a cheap way into Porsche ownership. But as is always the case, you get what you pay for. In this case it's even more dramatic. A 993 or 997 blows the 996 series away. The only exception is a 996 GT3. |

He wasn't speaking of a car -- it's more of a part of the anatomy with a 17 year old. Some, who are fast refer to it as a turbo -- others go so far as to give it a first and last name -- Porsche Turbo in this case, I guess.

g997, just from your forum name alone, I can tell you are biased still calling a Porsche a POS is a bit of an emotional extreme, but your sentiments are noted, as there are many levels of "ownership" in cars, audio, and so on. The long term use, should I find what I am looking for, is a daily driver that will have to thrive in the harsh traffic and winters in and around Boston, MA. That's why I chose the "4" but if a set of snow "shoes" will get the job done with increased reliability then I have more options In any event, I have found that Porsche makes extremely reliable and fun cars. Even if it's $250 a oil change, the pleasure of driving is executed every time it is driven. |
