Surge protection in the meter housing by the power company and Eaton whole house surge protection at each 200 amp panel.

I'm closing on a new home soon. It has a surge protector installed at the panel. I've always thought and read that this was best. But I always put one with my audio gear as well.

Two audio shops near where I live use Furman IT-Reference 15i on their Mc and Martin Logan (13A) systems. I've heard both systems and to my ears they both sounded very good. However, IMO there are better ones out there such as Torus RM20, Shunyata Research, PS Audio, etc.

I hope this helps.

Environmental Potentials EP-2050, whole house surge protection and wave form regeneration. Add EP-2750 ground filters on your audio circuits too!

Talking Surge Protection

Just move to my old home in the Berkeley California area. These days, if there is threat of a storm they just shut down the grid entirely.

(Currently, in Boston, we use Furman. But for the next audio set-up I would also look closely at the Bryston offerings if a whole house solution wasn't feasible).
