N-05XD plus clock
Hello
I received the N-05Xd. Had it for a week and then got the Teac cg-10m external clock to go with it. I have a Bel Canto E1x dac that I was using before but is now up for sale. The Teac clock made a big difference and is highly recommended. Loving the combo |

Interesting a TEAC clock improves on the clock already in an Esoteric N-05X.

Any decently engineered purpose-built external 10MHz is known to improve not only Esoteric but other devices with clock input such as dCS Vivaldi. I recently added a Cybershaft clock and the improvement is quite shocking to say the least. TEAC CG-10M clock is also not exactly cheap either. Its MSRP is $1,700. |

Esoteric announced today (11/28) a firmware update to the N-05XD. It's version 2.01 which is supposed to fix a bug that exists in the remote control power button apparently not cycling the power on the unit itself.

If I spent $20,000 on an Esoteric SACD player and found out a $1700 clock made it better, I would be pissed. Maybe that’s just me. Moving on.
And BTW, you will need to spend another $1,000 + on a cable…

:You reminded me of the insanity of this addiction (hifi equipment) and yes there was also a Nordost clock cable. I'm not bothered by the improvement of the clock, 60yrs+ in this hobby I have yet to find the perfect product!
