Oasis 7 speaker cables
Just took delivery of the new Oasis 7 speaker cables. These were purchased for my modest analog system that is getting a new amp.
I'd slowly been moving the existing cabling to WW, and thought the new amp deserved some new cables. It already has Stratus power cables, and Eclipse 6 interconnects. I couldn't afford the Eclipse speaker cables, settling for the Oasis. They arrived, and the box had a pleasing heft to it. I opened it and was immediately impressed by the packaging. I opened the case and got surprised. Holy schnikes these are hefty looking cables! I had to grab an amp from another system to test them, after all what good are they in the case ? I really can't make comparisons since the existing amp of the analog system won't accommodate the large spades. What I did note while listening that evening was "there's that big WW soundstage", which was an impression I had when I installed the Eclipse IC's last year. Looking forward to getting the new amp in the near future. Here's a look at the Oasis 7's, I am quite pleased with them. (If I can post pics that is - after all, no pics = didn't happen) |

airdronian.......The Wireworld Oasis is an excellent speaker cable. I used them on a vintage system with a Tandberg power amp and preamp. They sounded very good. You're right, they are hefty cables. When I first unpacked mine I had the same response you did about their size and weight.

Congrats! I own Oasis 6 interconnects, and while they have a neutral nature, they have a mellowish/smooth presentation that I find intoxicating. I don't know if the speaker wires have that same characteristic, I haven't auditioned them, but some reviews I've read seem to point that out. You tell me. Congratulations on the great cables and thanks for the pics.

Thanks for the comments. I also just placed an order for the Oasis jumpers too. Wasn't thinking when I initially brought in the new cables... doing my part to keep USPS going I guess.

Jumpers make a big difference compared to the standard plates that come with the speakers. It's a great upgrade, a must. Congrats!

Since my new amp isn't here yet (soon, real soon) I can't use the Oasis 7 cables yet. The jumpers arrived, so I figured why not give them a try? These are stout little devils, with silver plated OFC spades. Installed them, and with zero hours on them benefits were apparent on the first LP. Not brighter, there was more detail available and a bit more resolution. Somehow smoother with more detail if that makes any sense. It made the listening experience more relaxing if anything . So Stereohead, you were certainly right about the value of moving to decent jumpers ! Now I can't wait to get my amp in the house and the rest of the Oasis 7's installed. Fun times. |
