Will probably go with the we 753 with the field coil tweeter and alnico woofers because of the smaller footprint even with a 15 inch woofer in pau ferro finish.

604 Alnico in a heartbeat. The 604 is ideally suited to more near field listening and doesn't require a large distance for the drivers to meld. And you will have great imaging with this... The larger cabinet will also allow the driver to produce good deep bass.

Lafites will be a little small, 604 field coils in petite cabinets should be pretty good too but the we 753 really intrigues me knowing how rare the vintage ones are. Just remember reading somewhere someone who owns it saying that it sounds better if he sits on the floor. Moving from the silver back references, I hope all will be good

Default Solovox Speakers

Junker,

Thanks for the "heads up" regarding Matt's Solovox speakers. I bought them and they are in my system now. Quite the speaker and worth the hunt!

Nice Simon. I think they are quite a collectable piece. Post a pic for us sometime.

As requested,

Solovox's in their new home. A little reversible cosmetic change was required to appease the better half.

Those look great Simon. I don't think you could have found a better fit for those that space - even the wood matches the flooring! Not sure I've ever seen them with the grills on. They look clean that way but I'm a huge fan of the brass on PHY speakers. So how are they sounding?!

Thanks. The off-white covers are a reversible addition to appease my wife. This is the price you pay when the listening room is also the living room. Regardless, they sound fantastic; beautiful midrange and vast sound stage and depth.
