They can certainly show EMI a thing or two about how to really put a *cough* Beatles *cough* set of remastered records together.

Here's hoping that the forthcoming reissues of the LZ catalog are done to a high standard; the Classic Roadcase set was apparently a mixed bag on pressing quality, released when Classic was having all those problems (though 1 and III are good; III, which I was never fond of at the time of release has grown on me, and the Classic pressing is very good, given that LZ's recordings were never the best). The Bill Evans records are fabulous musically, I haven't bought the set, since I already own most of the albums in various pressings, but when it is done right, at 45rpm, it's magic. I think the best quality record I bought this year was 88 Basie St on 45- its is a sonic treasure. Chad's doing really good work.

Bill Evans box set hands down.

Second place goes to the new Doors 45rpm individual titles by AP. There is a box set which includes the titles and a case in February 2013. If one is so inclined, buy the individual 45rpm titles now and if the case matters, buy the case seperately in Jan 2013.

Happy Holidays Folks,

Bob

David, too much conflicting information on the box set. I'm waiting for the review.

Then again these are 96/24 for all (also described as DSD to 96/24 plus analog equalized "as needed").

Happy Holidays Folks,

Bob

The Herbie Nichols Mosaic Box Set. An overlooked, short-lived piano genius with a sound all his own. His music stimulates the same part of my brain Bach does...intellectual (mathematical) but absolutely musical.
