Dynero, good to see you here, bud.

Dont see whats the fuss bout evidence series being old 10years...its only 3650 days folks...what so revolutionary could happen that this speakers are "outdated"...evidence temptations and master are reference masterpieces...why fix when it aint broken...but from the point of evidence platinum totaly new speaker it could be better than temptation but i wouldnt bet its better than master...evidence line is so good that diferences between those 3 speakers cant be big IMHO...

I would love to hear one of these speakers. Unfortunately, with my A-Frame room, which incidentally is very good acoustically, the height of these speakers makes them out of the question for me. Regarding the datedness of these speakers, why is it necessary to be continually updating? If the design is solid there's simply no need. Whoever owns one of these speakers must feel really good about their investement.

Certainly better than those who bought the M5 anyway

I'm interested in what's exactly changed/new about this speaker vs. the Temptation and Master. I've got a pair of C1's and have had em for about 5 years now... Still love em!

Finally, I got the chance to audition Evidence Platinum at lenght.

Room was app. 9m x 6m x 3.2m ceeling. System was T+A HV int. amp and cd player, cables Wire World Platinum Eclipse 7 speaker cable and IC. AC cables from German brand HMS.

Impressions...

I was about to order Magico S5(which cost €30K in EU with local tax) since no speaker till €50K was able to beat it to my ears. OK, I must admit that I did not audition all competitors but, I auditioned Wilson Sasha and Alexia, Marten Coltrane 2, Avalon Compas, Sonus Faber Amati Futura, TAD R1 and E1.
Only TAD R1 was better overall then Magico S5, for EU price of €75K it should be IMHO.

Dynaudio Evidence Platinum was a huge shock and supriese for me. Simply said they blow me away. It was by far the best sound that I auditoned till now.
Soundstage was very big, above speakers in all directions and depth was much, much better then on Magico S5(I found that soundstage depth speciall with classical music is one of the biggest shortcomings of S5, even Wilson Sasha produce IMHO better soundstage depth impression). Sweet spot was pretty wide for first order crossover design.
Bass was also better, deeper and tighter and that was another huge supriese for me since specs tell us that Magico S5 is going deeper. Just... I was stupid enough to presume that 22hz spec by Magico is anechoic measurement. Actually, it is -10db in room point. Evidence Platinum lowest measured(anechoic chamber) is 28hz-3db and it room where I audition them they go very low indeed. Platinum bass is more agile and produce more PRAT which was a supriese as well since Magico S5 is sealed box and should have advantage here. In short excellent bass reproduction-for me at least.
Highs were nicelly extended without any edge at all. Some people would call it even polite(like Gentleman that owns Focal Stella EM which audition Platinum with me. At first his impression was that Stella EM has edge in highs but, at the end he was not so sure. He was very impressed with Evidence Platinum) so, it is more up to someones personal taste here.
Male voices were produced very naturally without any added chestiness. Female voices were also beautifull and very natural to me.

Evidence Platinum has that rare quality to get complete package right. They can play very, very loud with very low distortion. But, they are very good at low to medium playback level and that is a plus for me.

Music that I audition on Evidence Platinum:

Classic Mahlers 8th
Classic Wagner Valkyrie
Jazz Coltrane Blue train
Jazz Miles Davis various
Jazz Sara K various
Pop Andrea Bocelli
Pop Depeche Mode various
Rock Peter Gabriel various
Rock Muse The Resistance

Final word-I will order Evidence Platinum, just need to figure out what finish option.
