Default Panasonic 65S2. short review

Day one:
Here is an example of getting what you pay for.
Ok picture at its best, with lacking sound, sitting over my 2channel McIntosh analog system.

Might need a sound bar?
Might need to upgrade?
It makes my Epson Projector look 3D.

Need to play with the settings more.
This pony is not going to win , place or show. (My opinion.)
But it is 65 inches of mediocrity.

I am on the fence .... a 65" Plasma (S2 or VT25 or wait until next year) OR a Panasonic 4000 / Epson 31000 projector. ?

Whatever1...the VT25 is better than the S2 but as KingRT suggested the S2 is priced attractively (i.e., significant discount to the VT25). I am doing the research now and the VT25 sounds like it is the best 2D picture in plasmas around (it also does 3D but I don't care about that). The other option I am looking at in Plasma (which is a little bit cheaper but still got good reviews) is the Samsung PN58C8000 (the 58" model which I am looking at is maybe $300-$400 cheaper than the Panny VT25 equivalent). They both come with video and internet streaming content as well. Hope this helps.

Go for one of the VT25s. I have the 58" and am very pleased with it in both 2D and 3D.

... sorry -- I just saw this.

I have the proejctor in a darkened room I use exclusively for home theater, and I have it calibrated for theater projection. I imagine I could move it to a lighter room and be quite happy with it after adustments.
