Default Fun building a kiddie fort

I took several days vacation to go help my son build a fort/playground in the backyard for my 4 year old grandson. The kids asked us grandparents to buy the fort at Christmas instead of the battery powered ride on John Deere Bulldozer.

The other grandparents could not make it this weekend so it was my two sons, two wives and a 4 year old trying to erect this thing in the least amount of time and blood. I climb all over airplanes for a living, but this thing just kicked my butt. After a 5 hour drive back home I feel like a very hard, stale pretzel!

Disregarding the aches and pains of a 51 year old, I had a blast trying to figure out the Chinese translation of the instuctions, missing pieces, wrong tools and the rain.

We finished last night about 5 PM and the look on my grandson's face was all the ointment I'll need to feel better. We could have paid the pro's to come in and do it in half maybe a quarter of the time, but the fun and memories are worth every strained muscle.

Great Story - The smiles on kids, or grandkids, faces can take you to another place. Nothing better then family fun times.

You did a great thing, and I'm sure everyone will remember the fun you all had.

Ibuprofen heals the pain - memories last forever.

Take the motrin and keep having the memories!

I hate to sound like a MasterCard commercial but the memory of this past weekend is actually priceless! Motrin probably won't work at this time.....I have some Vicodan from a tooth extraction I may think about using!
