I believe, but am not certain, the above is the second cycle of these works from the Borodins, circa 2014. My imprint took place with what may be the first or second cycle, released in 1997. The magic 8 ball says the answer is unclear although they both include the piano quintet mit Richter. OR they may both be the same performances, Bart's with a refreshed cover. If someone knows, please help.

BMG Classics / Melodiya 74321 40711 2 6 CD set

PS - Nice to see you surface here, Bud.

I was listening to the Boro's in '96, and I'm pretty sure they were fairly old recordings back then, possibly mid 70's, or I maybe confusing them with the Shosty quartet. The Lyndsay (sic) quartet met Shosty in London I think at the time of their mid or full cycle, a year or so before he passed, and they continued recording to the turn of the 90's i think but the Boro's were older.

Tim, the booklet says: Recorded in 1978 - 1983.
The box contains all the string quartets, the piano quintet and two pieces for string octet.
