To be quite honest I am going on the opinions of others for the most part in my selection of the S3900. I owned a pair of Array 800s prior to my current Vienna Acoustics and I enjoyed them very much. I knew the Array 1400 would be a big step up but the aesthetics and size of the S3900 appealed to me the most. My room is very small and I did not want it completely dominated by my speakers. But if I had the right room I would probably go with the Everests as I have lusted after them since the day I first saw them. Unfortunately, I have yet to see a pair in person.

Most of 'em really. The Array 1400 on up. The S4700s can handle everything heavy metal and electric blues but can also sound good on 3 piece acoustic jazz. We're talking heavy duty compression drivers and bullet proof 15" (or in the case of the S3900 2 10") woofers. I'll go public and say, I have tried to abuse these, and they would not quit. My hearing was shot for a day or 2 after that listening session!
