Just installed my "demo" BM CX power cord and listening to some familiar CD's. Right now I have it connected to my integrated and this is what I'm getting. More detail with bette separation but maybe a bit thin on bass. I know the HC cable is ideal for the integrated but I started here for now. Next I'm going to try it on the CDP and see how things sound.

Familiar yes but I may be further ahead in the "break in" process as this was/is a DEMO unit from Music Direct. The only thing I don't know is where I really am in the hour count. Will it get any better or is this what I'm going to get? Like everything, time will tell.

Hmmm, sounds surprising about it being thin in the bass, because I've always observed a notable improvement in bass when adding a Black Mamba. This was particularly evident when I installed one on my phono stage.

Keep in mind this is currently connected to my L590 Integrated and from what I've been reading the Black Mamba CX HC would likely yield better results. I also must consider where I am in the "break in" cycle. I will need more time to evaluate and will move this over to my CD player in the next day or so. What I'm really trying to decide is if I want to go with another Black Mamba, the CX HC, Cobra Zitron, or Python CX. This would be intended for the 590 but I just cannot make up my mind.

Don,
I would recommend going to the Shunyata web site and watching the DTCD video in their video area. From that info, acc. to Caelin Gabriel, the new Zitron series designs are a MAJOR breakthrough in cable performance.

If you go back and read Audio Servant's comments, they appear to corroborate this...

I was so impressed by the video, I am thinking of ordering a Zitron cable....probably a Zitron Cobra 20 amp for the Hydra 8. And I just bought a BM CX last week! (it's on the Wadia 121).

Kev,
Are they both 15 amp plugs or is one 20 amp for use with a distributor?

Ones for my amp, the other for the MSB, both are 15 amp. The Silver Circle came with a Vesuvius cable.

Just a note regarding hydra 20A cable. Get the Hydra HC cable to power Hydras or amps. 9 gauge and made for the task at a great price.

Put the cobras on low voltage components and hydra hc on high voltage components for best bang for the buck.
