Yes, the L100 cabinets were american walnut veneer.

Default Jbl l100

Hello, to remove the tweeter you need to remove it's foilcal ring that covers the mounting screws. Heat it with hair dryer, but cover the actual speaker cone and only heat the black ring that goes around the outside edge of the speaker. If the speaker is working, all drivers, you might want to try and sell it as a center channel to someone that has a pair already! Cheers, Frank

I thought it was probably something like that....but I think he's decided to keep the speaker (post #16). A good decision, IMO.
